The ISES-ISEE 2018 Joint Meeting will bring together scientific experts and practitioners from academia, government, industry, and non-governmental organizations dedicated to the protection of health and environment. Exposure science and environmental epidemiology are dynamic fields that:
- Develop and apply traditional and innovative methods for assessing exposures to environmental stressors and their health effects.
- Address exposures to a broad array of environmental stressors as well as factors that contribute to or mitigate exposure.
- Elucidate potential health effects from environmental stressors during the life cycle including outcomes from in utero development to death.
- Promote interdisciplinary approaches to solving complex environmental public health problems.
The ISES-ISEE 2018 Joint Meeting theme is “Addressing Complex Local and Global Issues in Environmental Exposure and Health.” As the capital city of Canada, Ottawa is home to diverse and active community of scientists and policy makers engaged in local and global environmental exposure and health research. The ISES-ISEE 2018 Joint Meeting will be inclusive to delegates from around the world, and will leverage local and international expertise to address complex local and global topics relevant to exposure science and environmental epidemiology.

Reduce your carbon footprint!
In an effort to mitigate the climate impact of holding this event, we invite delegates to purchase at least a half tonne of carbon offsets during their registration. One-half tonne is valued at $10. Most of the carbon footprint for the event will be from air travel. We encourage you to offset more if your flight is international or longer than 3400 KM (estimated average Canadian roundtrip flight—roughly the distance from Winnipeg to Ottawa and back).
For more information on the projects you’ll be supporting, click here. These projects provide tangible carbon reductions made possible because of the funds from carbon offsets. We’re proud to be taking steps to mitigate the conference footprint and appreciate your support in doing so! Thank you.
Help us reach our base goal of offsetting at least 100 tonnes. 100 tonnes would be the equivalent taking 21 cars off the road for a year.
